TISLEP 2017: Tackling Leadership through the lens of Social Accountability
Calling all educators, learners, leaders past and present, and those interested in leadership education – The Toronto International Summit on Leadership Education for Physicians (TISLEP) is around the corner!
Join your colleagues as they again convene to discuss contemporary leadership issues, successes and challenges. Hosted by the University of Toronto and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, TISLEP 2017 will take place Wednesday October 18th in Quebec City, Canada as a pre-conference ICRE event. The theme of TISLEP this year is Fostering leaders to meet healthcare’s social contract: closing the gap, aligning directly with ICRE’s 2017 theme: “Leadership and Change in Residency Training: A Call to Action”. TISLEP’s keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Jean Zigby, President of Canadian Physicians for the Environment, who will spotlight leadership education through the lens of advocacy. Throughout the day, we will explore general leadership issues and expand our understanding of strategies for fulfilling our commitment to social accountability as we interact with local, national and international experts.
The goal of the Summit is to equip participants with the leadership skills needed to provide quality care during these times of increasing complexity and change, and to design globally relevant strategies for embedding leadership development into healthcare education and training.
